We get it! There is something special about receiving a factory-sealed Hot Wheels Car Culture case, opening it yourself, and having a chance of discovering a chase inside.

At Hanz Driven, when eligible Car Culture products are purchased in the quantity specified on the product listing — typically 2x sets — we will ship one unopened factory case exactly as it was received by us from our supplier.

But there is something very important every collector needs to understand:

A factory-sealed case means we have not opened the case to verify what is inside.

That creates some risks that are completely outside Hanz Driven's control. We want to be as transparent as possible about those risks before you decide whether buying a sealed case is right for you.

What Does “Factory Sealed” Mean at Hanz Driven?

When Hanz Driven describes a case as factory sealed, it means:

Hanz Driven has not opened the case or altered its contents after receiving it through our supply chain.

We receive the case, inspect its exterior, place it inside an additional shipping box for protection, and send it to you without opening it.

Factory sealed does NOT mean Hanz Driven can guarantee:

• That the case has only one layer of tape.
• That it was never retaped before reaching us.
• That it contains two complete sets.
• The exact assortment or quantities inside.
• That every vehicle or package inside is in perfect condition.
• That the case contains a chase vehicle.

We cannot inspect and guarantee the contents of a case while also keeping that case unopened.

Does Purchasing 2x Guarantee Two Complete Sets?

No.

A Hot Wheels Car Culture factory case will normally contain two complete sets, but this is not guaranteed by Mattel or Hanz Driven.

The case is packed before it reaches us, and we do not open it to verify the assortment.

We have seen factory cases containing packing irregularities, including situations where a case contained three units of one vehicle and an incorrect quantity of another, resulting in the case not containing two complete sets.

When you purchase 2x Car Cultures sets of the same release, you are choosing to receive the factory-packed assortment exactly as we received it, even if Mattel or another point in the supply chain made a packing error.

If receiving two verified complete sets is more important to you than receiving an unopened case, you can email us requesting to receive two sets. We open and a case to check or pick them from opened cases for you.

Double-Taped & Retaped Factory Cases

This is especially important.

Double-taped and retaped factory cases are a known occurrence in the diecast hobby.

Hanz Driven has received double-taped cases through our supply chain, and other retailers throughout the industry have experienced the same issue.

We have seen a significant number of cases have arrived double taped in one run in the past while none have come double-taped others.

The second layer of tape can look identical to the original factory tape.

This is important because double taping is not always obvious.

We have received cases where the second layer of tape is the same type and color as the original factory tape underneath it. When applied cleanly, the second layer can be extremely difficult to notice without specifically examining the tape very closely.

Hanz Driven inspects factory cases before shipment. When we clearly identify a double-taped case, we generally remove it from sealed-case inventory, open it, and sell the vehicles individually, however if we do not have enough quantities of single-taped cases to ship, we will ship a double-taped case.

However:

We cannot guarantee that every double-taped or previously retaped case will be identified during inspection.

A case may therefore arrive with two layers of factory-type tape.

Mattel does not provide Hanz Driven with a guarantee regarding the sealing history, factory assortment, or internal contents of individual cases.

Does Double Tape Mean Someone Removed the Chase?

No.

A double-taped case does not automatically mean that a chase was removed but that might have happaned.

We have personally opened double-taped cases and found the chase still inside.

There are many possible reasons a case could have a second layer of tape somewhere during manufacturing or distribution, and Hanz Driven cannot determine the history of an individual case before it reaches us.

We will not speculate about where or why a particular case was retaped when we do not have evidence.

What we can tell you is that Hanz Driven does not open customer factory cases, remove chase vehicles, retape the cases and then sell them as sealed.

What About Chase Vehicles?

That's part of the fun of opening a sealed case!

Factory cases may contain a chase vehicle, but:

CHASE VEHICLES ARE RANDOM AND NEVER GUARANTEED.

Chase distribution can vary significantly between releases, production runs and case codes.

Some releases may have relatively frequent chases. Others may have very few. A particular case code may appear to contain more chases in one release while another release follows a completely different pattern.

This is controlled by the manufacturer and is completely outside Hanz Driven's control.

Purchasing one case, multiple cases or any specific case code does not guarantee a chase.

Likewise, receiving a factory case without a chase does not mean that a chase was removed.

What Exactly Am I Buying?

When purchasing the quantity required to receive a factory case, you are purchasing:

One unopened factory case, as received by Hanz Driven through our supply chain.

You are NOT purchasing a guarantee of the unknown contents inside that sealed case.

While a Car Culture case normally contains two complete sets, you acknowledge that:

• Two complete sets are not guaranteed.
• Exact assortment and quantities are not guaranteed.
• Chase vehicles are not guaranteed.
• Internal product and packaging condition is not guaranteed.
• Factory packing errors can occur.
• Cases may arrive single taped, double taped or previously retaped.
• A second layer of tape may be identical to the original factory tape.
• Hanz Driven does not open the case to inspect or correct its contents.

This is the trade-off that comes with choosing an unopened factory case.

Factory-Sealed Cases Are Final Sale

ALL FACTORY-SEALED CASE SALES ARE FINAL.

Most importantly:

ONCE A FACTORY CASE HAS BEEN OPENED, IT CANNOT BE RETURNED TO HANZ DRIVEN.

We do not accept returns, exchanges or refund requests after opening a factory case based on:

• Not receiving a chase.
• Not receiving two complete sets.
• Incorrect vehicle quantities.
• Incorrect factory assortment.
• Factory packing errors.
• Double or retaped factory tape.
• Internal packaging or product condition.
• Any other contents discovered after opening the case.

Once a case has been opened, its original sealed condition cannot be restored or independently verified.

Why Are We So Detailed About This?

Because we would rather be extremely transparent before you purchase than have a collector disappointed afterward.

Hanz Driven does not manufacture or pack Hot Wheels factory cases. We can control how we inspect, handle, protect and ship the product once it reaches us, but we cannot control everything that happens during manufacturing and distribution before that point.

Factory inconsistencies, packing errors and double-taped cases unfortunately exist in the hobby.

We want collectors choosing a sealed case because they understand and accept that experience — including the uncertainty that comes with opening something nobody at Hanz Driven has inspected inside.
