Pre-Orders
Let’s talk pre-orders. We get a lot of questions — here’s everything you need to know.
What’s a pre-order, anyway?
A pre-order means the item hasn’t dropped yet — the manufacturer is still making it, painting it, putting it in a little box somewhere overseas. Once it lands in our warehouse, we’ll ship it out to you. But until then? It’s in the works.
Why should I pre-order instead of waiting and buying when it arrives?
Here’s the deal: manufacturers don’t like sitting on stock. They produce what the market demands — and that demand comes from people like you pre-ordering early. Often no pre-orders = no cars.
Pre-ordering:
-
Locks it in just for you
-
Usually scores you the best price (before they spike or sell out)
-
Helps keep runs small and collectible
-
Prevents the “I should’ve ordered it when I had the chance” heartbreak
How do I know if something is a pre-order?
We’ll always make it obvious. Look for “Pre-Order” in the product title and in the description. We also list the estimated ship date so you know what’s up.
When will my pre-order ship?
Every product page has an expected release window — but heads up, those dates come from the manufacturer and can (and often do) shift. Delays are totally normal in the diecast world — whether it's customs, shipping containers, or factories running behind. It’s part of the collector game.
What if there’s a delay?
Honestly? It happens a lot. The brands provide us a release estimate when the item is announced, but they usually go silent after that. So if it’s quiet? That’s normal.
If we notice it’s running behind, we’ll add a couple of months to the shipping estimate just to keep things realistic.
In the meantime: chill, grab a snack, and clean your shelves. It'll get to you.
Where do I find the latest release dates?
You can check your order under your Hanz Driven account, or head back to the product page — we update it as soon as we know more.
Why do other websites say the release is sooner than you?
Good catch. We add 2–3 months on top of the manufacturer’s timeline because we know the game. We’ve been burned before, and we’d rather underpromise and overdeliver. Other shops might show the original date — we choose honesty over hype.
Will I get order updates?
Kind off...
-
First email confirms your order
-
Second email hits your inbox when it ships (with tracking info)
We won’t spam you in between, they don't tell us when they finish painting the cars and are moving on with adding the rims. After the new product announcement, they just tell us when it is ready.
Can I mix pre-orders with in-stock stuff?
You can, but just know: that everything will ship together once all the items are in stock.
Want the in-stock items now? Place two orders — one for pre-orders, one for in-stock.
Can I cancel a pre-order?
You can, but we charge a 10% restock fee. Why? Because every pre-order is counted and allocated, and that messes with our inventory and supplier orders, there are also costly processing fees which nobody likes.
Don’t want to wait anymore? You’ve got options:
-
We can ship what’s ready now and invoice you for shipping the pre-orders later
-
We can ship what’s ready now, hold your pre-orders and bundle them with your next order
-
Or swap your pre-order for something in stock — we’ll just adjust for the price difference
Final Word
We love pre-orders. They help us bring you rare, limited, and seriously cool cars. But they do take time — and sometimes a little patience.
Stay chill, stay driven. Your car is coming.
